Accommodation will be provided in comfortable budget-friendly lodges, camps, or tented camps, depending on availability. Meals will be included according to the safari program, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided on most safari days.

Your safari will be conducted in a comfortable safari vehicle with a professional and experienced driver-guide who will share knowledge about the wildlife, nature, and local environment. Regular game drives will give you the opportunity to observe wildlife, take photographs, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness.

Arrival Day: Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Hagen Adventures representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a comfortable drive through the beautiful surroundings of northern Tanzania while receiving a brief introduction to your upcoming safari.

After checking in, the rest of the day is free to relax and recover from your journey. Take the opportunity to enjoy the hotel facilities and prepare for the exciting safari adventure that awaits you with Hagen Adventures.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up in Arusha by your professional Hagen Adventures safari guide. After a short briefing, drive through the beautiful countryside toward Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive through a landscape of ancient baobab trees, open savannah and seasonal waterways. Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds, while giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs and numerous bird species can also be seen. With luck, you may encounter lions and other predators. After a picnic lunch, continue exploring the park before heading to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park set beneath the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy a game drive through diverse habitats ranging from groundwater forests and open grasslands to the shores of Lake Manyara. The park is home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, monkeys and an impressive variety of birdlife. Lake Manyara is also known for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not guaranteed. After exploring the park, continue toward your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The route takes you through the scenic highlands and eventually opens into the vast plains of the Serengeti. As you enter the park, your safari continues with game viewing along the way to Central Serengeti. This region offers excellent opportunities to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas and other wildlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before arriving at your lodge or safari camp for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the Serengeti.

Day 4: Full-Day Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a full-day safari in the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, set out with your guide for a day of exploring the vast plains, carrying a picnic lunch so you can spend more time in the wilderness. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may encounter large herds of wildebeest and zebra, as well as lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes and numerous bird species. Your experienced guide will select the best areas based on current sightings and road conditions. The early morning and late afternoon provide particularly beautiful light for photography and wildlife viewing before returning to your accommodation for dinner and another overnight stay.

Day 5: Central Serengeti – Karatu

Wake up to the beauty of the Serengeti and enjoy an early morning game drive, when the cooler temperatures often bring increased wildlife activity. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe predators such as lions and cheetahs as well as herds of wildebeest, zebra and other grazing animals. Depending on the day’s schedule, you may enjoy a picnic lunch along the way while continuing to look out for wildlife. After the early lunch, continue your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Karatu town. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery as the open Serengeti plains gradually give way to the highlands and volcanic landscapes around Ngorongoro. By afternoon, arrive at your accommodation just outside Ngorongoro conservation Area, where you can relax, enjoy dinner and prepare for the following day’s crater adventure.

Day 6: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Karatu

After an early breakfast, depart from your accommodation in Karatu and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Continue to the crater rim before descending into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive. Explore the crater floor, home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and, with luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the safari while taking in the breathtaking scenery of the crater. After further wildlife viewing, ascend from the crater and return to Karatu in the afternoon for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.

Day 7: Mto Wa mbu cultural tour & Maasai Boma Visit – Airport Transfer

After breakfast, begin your day with a cultural tour of Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant town known for its diverse communities, local traditions and everyday rural life. Explore the local market, farms and village surroundings while learning about traditional crafts, food production and the different cultures that live together in the area. Continue with a visit to a traditional Maasai Boma, where you will have the opportunity to meet members of the Maasai community and learn about their traditions, lifestyle, homes and cultural heritage.

After the cultural experiences, enjoy lunch before beginning your transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule. Your Hagen Adventures guide will ensure a comfortable journey and assist you at the airport, marking the end of your memorable Tanzania safari and cultural adventure.
