Arrival Day: Welcome to Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Hagen Adventures representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a comfortable drive through the beautiful surroundings of northern Tanzania while receiving a brief introduction to your upcoming safari.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins in Arusha with a morning pick-up by your professional Hagen Adventures safari guide. After a short briefing, you will drive toward Tarangire National Park, passing through the beautiful countryside, local villages and agricultural areas of northern Tanzania. Upon entering the park, your game drive begins through a landscape characterized by ancient baobab trees, open grasslands and the Tarangire River, which attracts wildlife particularly during the dry season. Tarangire is well known for its impressive elephant population, and you may see large herds moving through the savannah or gathering around water sources. The park is also home to giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, monkeys and numerous bird species, while lions and other predators may also be encountered. After a picnic lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tarangire – Central Serengeti
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and continue toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through changing landscapes, from the highlands and open countryside to the vast plains of the Serengeti. As you enter Central Serengeti, the scenery becomes increasingly expansive, offering the classic African landscape of endless grasslands dotted with wildlife. The Central Serengeti is an excellent area for year-round wildlife viewing and is particularly known for its resident populations of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras and wildebeest. Enjoy an afternoon game drive as your guide searches for wildlife based on recent sightings and animal movements. As the sun begins to set over the plains, continue to your lodge or safari camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 3: Central Serengeti – Karatu
Wake up to the beauty of the Serengeti and enjoy an early morning game drive, when the cooler temperatures often bring increased wildlife activity. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe predators such as lions and cheetahs as well as herds of wildebeest, zebra and other grazing animals. Depending on the day’s schedule, you may enjoy a picnic lunch along the way while continuing to look out for wildlife. After the early lunch, continue your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Karatu town. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery as the open Serengeti plains gradually give way to the highlands and volcanic landscapes around Ngorongoro. By afternoon, arrive at your accommodation just outside Ngorongoro conservation Area, where you can relax, enjoy dinner and prepare for the following day’s crater adventure.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for one of the highlights of your safari. The crater is a spectacular natural caldera with a rich ecosystem that supports a remarkable concentration of wildlife. During your game drive, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas and many species of birds. The crater is also one of the places where visitors have an opportunity to see the endangered black rhinoceros, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed. Your experienced guide will explore the best areas of the crater while allowing time for photography and appreciation of the surrounding scenery. After a picnic lunch and a final game drive, ascend from the crater and begin your journey back to Arusha/or drive to airport. Arrive in the afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day safari with Hagen Adventures.
